Meet Your Hostess…
Heroine is Toronto’s best housewife without a husband. A trophy wife (with a few dents), she began her drag journey in 2007 while finishing her BA in Broadcast Journalism from Ryerson University. After graduating in 2009 and finding job opportunities to be slim pickings, she delved head first into a career on stage. Dazzling audiences in and around Toronto, Ontario, Canada for almost 11 years, Heroine has become known for providing campy, comedic parodies and skits in her stage shows. As a host, she’ll serve up a blend of dry wit, corny jokes, and observations on life, love, and everything pop culture . She’s had the honour of holding several titles within Toronto, such as Woody’s Queen Of Halloween and Zelda’s Drag Idol, a now debunked 8 week talent competition. In fact, she was the youngest winner of the latter at the age of 21.
Fundraising within the LGBTQ community is a passion of Heroine’s. She has assisted with countless charity events throughout the years by lending her talents to fundraising initiatives within Ontario. Since 2016, Heroine has organized a yearly event to raise money for charities such as the PWA Food Program, Casey House, and Rainbow Railroad. After the passing of her friend and fellow entertainer, Chris Edwards, Heroine has made it her mission to honour Chris’ memory and legacy by continuing their charity work within Toronto’s LGBTQ community.
As of late, Heroine has reconnected with her passions for cooking, writing, and party planning by combining them with her love of drag. As she continues to sparkle under the lights, Heroine has set her sights on a new goal beyond the stage: to become Canada’s leading (and sometimes buzzed) domestic diva! Will she become Canada’s version of Martha Stewart? Join her for the journey and find out!
